Course requirements
To be eligible for the radiography or OHE course the student must:
be registered with the General Dental Council
have the support of a GDC-registered dentist
have access to equipment and patients as necessary to complete the NEBDN Record of Experience.
Payment
Course fees are £495 for staff of BDA members or £595 for all other students. Payment of fees must be made in full, 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Cheque or Credit Card payments will be accepted. The BDA reserves the right to re-allocate a course place to another candidate if fees are not paid on time.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations should be made in writing or by email. Cancellations received seven days or more before the course start date will be refunded subject to a 25% administration fee. Cancellations received later than this date will not be refunded, except in exceptional circumstances.
In the unlikely event of the BDA cancelling the course, students will be offered an alternative course, a credit note or a full refund.
Substitution
A student wishing to cancel their place on a course may be replaced by another student from the same practice, subject to availability. Notification of the substitution must be received 2 or more weeks before the start of the course.
Transferring courses
Any request to transfer must be made in writing or by email at least 2 weeks before the start of the student's assigned course date and is subject to availability on the requested course. Students cannot transfer once they have started the course except under exceptional circumstances.
Completion of the course
The time taken to gain the appropriate NEBDN qualification will depend on how quickly a student can complete the NEBDN Record of Experience. BDA Education understands that students' working circumstances differ widely, so we will support students for 18 months or 3 examinations, in accordance with NEBDN guidelines.
All students are entitled to an initial period of instruction, followed by a further 7 weeks of access to the online course in the time preceding their NEBDN examination.
Students must complete all elements of the online course to be eligible for the NEBDN examination. We cannot sign Examination Application Forms where students have not completed all elements of the course.
In the event of a student failing an NEBDN examination, we can offer access to the online course for a subsequent revision period for a fee of £75.
Electronic Privacy
The BDA will not supply student email addresses to any outside organisations. The BDA may contact a student by email regarding BDA products and services. A student can opt out from receiving these communications by emailing radiography.support@bda.org or ohe.support@bda.org and expressing this wish.
