When you have completed your practice self-assessment, print the application form to join the Scheme and send it with your application fee to the BDA. Membership lasts for three years. The application fee covers membership for the first year; a renewal fee is paid in the second and third years. At the end of the three-year period, you can reapply. Fees are as follows
Where 50% or more of the dentists in the practice are BDA members:
an application fee of £350, which also covers the first year’s membership
a renewal fee of £150 per practice, paid in years two and three
a re-application fee of £300 paid in year four
Where less than 50% of the dentists in the practice are BDA members:
an application fee of £500 which also covers the first year’s membership
a renewal fee of £200 in years two and three
a re-application fee of £450 paid in year four
For each year that you are a member of the Good Practice Scheme, you will be sent a current year plate to display on the Good Practice plaque.
During a membership period, experienced assessors will visit some of the member practices to ensure the Scheme’s requirements are being met.
