Step 1: We recommend you subscribe to BDA Expert to access the rescources to help you with the Good Practice Scheme practice self assessment.
Step 2: Do you need extra support? Either the Regional Consultancy Service or a Good Practice Scheme Workshop.
Step 3: Work through the Good Practice Scheme practice self assessment and get everyone involved; assigning relevant responsibilities to each member of your dental team. Hold regular practice meetings to discuss the requirements of the Scheme, identify what is already in place, and what needs to be done. Practices can spend up to six months on the self-assessment.
Step 4: Once you have worked through the practice self-assessment, send your application form and payment to the Good Practice Scheme team.
Step 5: You will be contacted by the Good Practice Scheme team and requested to either submit a selection of practice documentation, or selected for an on-site assessment to confirm compliance with the Scheme requirements. Assessment of applications takes approximately three weeks.
Step 6: If your application is successful and the practice is granted membership of the Scheme, you will be notified and a Good Practice Scheme plaque will be sent to your practice along with guidance on how to use the Scheme logo and ideas on how to publicise your achievement.
Step 7: Celebrate with your team!
‘By involving every member of the team in working through the Scheme, its completion meant that the whole team had something to be proud of.’
