If you are new to the Good Practice Scheme or are renewing your Good Practice commitment, there is a lot of help available:

Welcome letter

Our welcome letter encourages you to:

  • agree SMART targets to get things done (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound)

  • set a six-month target for completing the assessment (we include a suggested a target date and encourage you to work to it)

  • let us know if you cannot make the target date as we may be able to help; many practices simply need to be reassured that they have the right idea. From the time you purchase the programme, you have 24 months to submit your application for scheme membership.

Telephone and email help

Do contact us if you have questions about the BDA Good Practice Scheme requirements; we have a variety of resources that can help you progress through your practice self-assessment. Where we hold practice email addresses, we send scheme updates electronically from time to time. No spam though, promise…

Good Practice Scheme consultancy service

Our Good Practice Scheme regional consultants are located throughout the UK and have been trained to deliver a dedicated premium support package. Regional consultants are experienced practice managers who have taken their own practices through the self-assessment programme several times and have seen the benefits it has brought to practice life and to patients.

Through a combination of practice visits and telephone consultations, our regional consultants can introduce the scheme to your dental team and encourage their involvement in the self-assessment process. Click here for more information.

Team training

A focused session on how to implement BDA Good Practice in your practice can be booked with a scheme advisor. These dedicated workshops are held at the BDA in London and have proved to motivate. Click here for more information.

Practices that have purchased a scheme programme are sent regular spring and autumn newsletters, containing hot tips and scheme news. Click here for the latest newsletter.
