YDC Asks

YDC ask campaign - website imageOn Wednesday 17 2012 October the Young Dentists Committee launched the mini-manifesto YDC Asks.

The document outlines the challenges for the future of the profession and focuses on four key areas about which the YDC is concerned; VT/DFT places, career development, role in practice and professional leadership.

The YDC sets out the challenge for young and newly-qualified dentists to engage in the debate on the future of the profession.

YDC mission statement

To create an environment for young dentists to thrive within their profession as a generalist or in their individual specialisms and to enable them to continue to provide high quality care to patients while developing as clinical and professional leaders.

Sign the Government e-petition

The YDC has raised an e-petition calling for every graduate from a UK university to have access to a VT/DFT training place. To show your support please sign the e-petition: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/40302.

Get involved

The YDC is the national committee for practitioners up to 12 years post-graduation from all spheres of dentistry. Membership is taken from the BDA Branch network across the UK. Where a BDA Branch has a Young Dentist Group (YDG) a member of that group is elected to take up a national seat on the YDC. Where a BDA Branch does not have a YDG, a younger member of the Branch in nominated to take up the national YDC seat.
