The British Dental Guild is maintaining the existing rate for 2013/14, which is £270 per session, or three and a half hours. The amount has been frozen at the 2012/13 rate.
Because of the modern complexities of dentistry in the UK, in recent years the Guild has decided not to separate the rate into a practice expense and a loss of earning component, but recommended that practitioners use their individual practice expenses to determine this, or the latest NHS IC or HMRC information on expenses ratios.
