Ten_ebookspictureWe have just added two new latest ten lists to our latest ten page - one covering our ebooks and one covering prevention. Our latest tens are updated regularly as books come in so why not check regularly to see what's new and get your reservation in before the rush! Bookmark www.bda.org/latestten to keep up to date...

Mini-exhibition - Sir John Tomes

Tomes-exhibpicThe library has a new mini-exhibition on display at present to link in with the Museum's major displays on the subject of Sir John Tomes. A reading list is available below.

Package folders highlighted for January/February

This month we are highlighting a further three packages of articles:

Contents lists are available at the foot of the page.

If you would like to borrow any or all of these packages please either reserve them through our online catalogue or contact us by phone, fax or email. We will post a package out to you in the same way as a book - it is normally borrowed for one month and may be renewed if it has not been requested by another member. A complete list of packages is available on the Loans page

CDTs

We have just updated our current dental titles page with updates for our ten topics: cancer, caries, elderly, endodontics, implants, orthodontics, paediatrics, periodontology, restorative and tooth wear. These are literatures searches covering the last six months and are only available to be downloaded by BDA members. Click on the Current dental titles page to access these.

Alphabet searches page updated

This page has been set up primarily with students in mind to give some idea of what a literature search looks like and as a taster of free searches that members may like to request. Periodically we will be focusing on 3 different dentistry related searches beginning with a particular letter - this month we have added three "C" searches and updated the "A" and "B" searches. The page can be accessed through the Student Services link.

Poetry and humour from dental writers...

PoetryHumour_1

The library has just produced a new flyer advertising some of the wit and poetry that lurk within many dentists.

The main titles mentioned are "This won't hurt" and "Thoughts and memories".

If you would like to know more about these and see a list of other titles please click on the picture or open the Poetry-humour document below.

Ebooks

The library has begun to build up a small collection of ebooks. These are available for members to view through the online library catalogue. To see a complete list go to the online catalogue and type "ebooks" in to the all keyword search box.

Good news for student members

We have now slashed our price for undergraduate student members when they request journal articles or book chapters using our document supply service. We will now only be charging student members £1.00 per article/chapter supplied via email or post.

BDA student members should fill out the photocopy request form below with the articles/chapters required and we will supply them within five days.

Visiting the library

All BDA members can come in to the library between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday. We offer free internet access, free WiFi, photocopying facilities and a relaxing space to work in as well as face to face contact with experienced information professionals!
