The BDA Museum Collection includes more than 30,000 objects. Our collections represent the history of dentistry in the United Kingdom from the mid-14th century to the present day. The Museum's mission statement defines our collecting areas and illustrates the ways in which an object needs to be relevant to the history of dentistry and the dental profession. Primary collecting areas include: Extraction, Conservation, Cleaning, Prophylaxis, Surgery, Anaesthesia, Diagnosis, Orthodontics, Prosthetics, Fine Arts, Archives, Photography and the history of the BDA.

The Museum will only accept objects that fall within the scope of our Collecting Policy and Mission Statement, are relevant to the history of dentistry in the UK and can be adequately and appropriately stored and preserved.
