The BDA offers students the opportunity to win a variety of awards or enter prestigious competitions.

BDA/Dentsply Student Clinician Programme

Each year, a student from each UK dental school is selected to represent their school with an original demonstration of the art or science of dentistry. The winner will then travel to San Francisco, all expenses paid, to share their winning project at the Annual Session of the American Dental Association. From there, the winners career will no doubt go on to bigger and better things.

The winners dental school also receives a £10,000 cheque to go towards a research project.

Right now your dental school is looking for someone to represent them at this year’s competition. The chosen one will go on to present in competition to a distinguished panel of judges in London.

BDA Elective Award

BDA Elective Awards are available to dental students as part of the British Medical and Dental Students' Trust (BMDST), which provides awards for overseas electives. Applications are judged twice a year, with closing dates in January and July.

BDA Branch Awards

Several BDA Branches present awards to students based on academic merit.
