Aims

This event aims to help delegates understand how the UK’s pensions system works, particularly the NHS Pension Schemes, how to get information on and engage with your NHS Pension and the importance of engaging fully with the Annual Reconciliation Report and working out Net Pensionable Earnings.

Learning objectives

This session will outline:

  • The state pensions arrangements
  • The integration of the tax regime with private pensions saving
  • How the NHS Pension Schemes work, including the importance of net pensionable earnings and pensions provision for practice staff.

Phil McEvoy

Phil is the Head of Pensions at the British Dental Association. He has worked in pensions for nearly 20 years, and for most of that time has represented trade union members in a variety of industries; including many years advising members in the health sector on their retirement savings.
