Lesley Derry honoured on the BDA's Roll of Distinction
11 December 2017
BDA Associate Director of Learning and Professional Development, Lesley Derry, has been entered onto the BDA's Roll of Distinction, in honour of her long and dedicated service to the profession.
Lesley's long career at the BDA has included roles as General Practice Adviser and Good Practice Scheme Manager.
Lesley came to the BDA as a qualified dental hygienist, previously working for the General Dental Council's education and standards department.
Since that time, she has worked tirelessly to implement practical services for BDA members, including the development of the BDA Good Practice Scheme, a Care Quality Commission toolkit for dentists, a clinical governance kit, a starting up in practice toolkit, the BDA Expert Solutions package, and a support pack for dentists working in private practice.
In nominating Lesley for the Award, BDA Chief Executive Peter Ward said:
"Lesley's long service to the BDA, and for providing services to our membership, have been incredibly valuable. She was central to the development of the BDA's Good Practice Scheme, as well as the content of the CQC Compliance toolkit and BDA Expert Solutions. Her contribution to helping members navigate the complex waters of compliance, regulation and bureaucracy are immense."
