Updated guidelines on conscious sedation for dentistry in Scotland
16 August 2017
Updated guidance is now available from the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) in the third edition of Conscious Sedation in Dentistry guidance.
This guidance aims to promote good clinical practice through recommendations for the safe and effective provision of conscious sedation for dental care.
The BDA responded to a consultation on the SDCEP guidance earlier this year, including feedback from the relevant BDA committees.
In 2015, the four UK Chief Dental Officers asked the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme to review the Intercollegiate Advisory Committee for Sedation in Dentistry (IACSD) standards document and ensure the SDCEP guidance is up to date and this latest version has been developed in communication with the IACSD.
