The official representative body for GDPs in Northern Ireland

The BDA Northern Ireland Dental Practice Committee represent the interests, and act on behalf of all general dental practitioners in Northern Ireland practising in the health service and/or privately. The Committee is recognised by the Government as having the status and authority to negotiate on behalf of the dental profession on matters of terms and conditions of service and remuneration in the general dental services.

Who we are

Members are elected for three-year terms. The current NI DPC triennium runs from 2015-2018.  NI DPC provide the link between the BDA's membership and the policy decisions taken on their behalf. The current Chair of NI DPC is Peter Crooks and the Vice Chairs are Richard Graham and Susan Nelson.  Find out more about who represents general dental practitioners in Northern Ireland here


General Dental Services Levy Fund

BDA members receive a subsistence allowance where appropriate and have their travel costs reimbursed. The Northern Ireland General Dental Services Levy Fund pays dentists sessional rates for time away on committee business.  See British Dental Guild Rate for information.
