Alan Mayhew trained with John McLean at the Dental School at Guy’s Hospital from 1942 – 1947 and later worked in hospital dentistry. Ed Attenborough is the Managing Director of Attenborough Dental and a past president of the BDTA.

John Bayes was a general dental practitioner with an interest in anaesthesia. He was involved in the Association of Dental Anaesthetists and the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry.

John Bradley was a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Lancashire. He was also a member of council of the British Association of Oral Surgeons, an editor of the British Journal of Oral Surgery and eventually chairman of an NHS Trust.
