Witness Seminars

Witness Seminars

The aim of the witness seminars is to record the memories of people connected to a particular subject or event. Witness seminars bring together 20 – 40 people to discuss and debate their reminiscences of that topic.

The archive has held a series of five witness seminars on the following topics:

  • Regulation of the dental profession
  • Changes in dentistry since 1948
  • Changing roles of dental care professionals
  • Developments in dental materials and related instruments and devices
  • The dental media.

The transcript for the witness seminar on the regulation of the dental profession is available below. Detailed summaries are available for the other witness seminars. The transcripts will be added in due course.

For further information about the witness seminars and for access to the recordings and associated documentation please contact the BDA Dental Museum
