Chair

Petros Mylonas

Petros is a full-time Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry and is currently completing his StR training in Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff Dental School. He obtained his BDS (2012) from University of Birmingham School of Dentistry, an MMedEd (2018) from Warwick Medical School focusing on elearning and curriculum development, and a PhD in Prosthodontics and Biomaterials (2019) from King’s College London Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences which focused on novel methods of detecting erosive toothwear in vitro. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, and a Member of the Royal Colleges of Glasgow (MFDS RCPS) and of England (MJDF RCS). Petros teaches all aspects of restorative dentistry and dental biomaterials to undergraduate BDS and Dental Hygiene and Therapy students. He also conducts research in the fields of Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Dental Education, and Surface Metrology. He is currently the module co-lead for BDS 2 clinical training and Dental Materials.

Vice Chair

Swati Nehete

Dr Swati Nehete is Clinical Reader in Restorative Dentistry and Clinical Assessment. She has worked at QMUL since 2004 and has recently been Academic Lead for Assessment for Taught Programmes at the Institute of Dentistry. She has recently stepped down as Chair of the Dental Schools Council Assessment Alliance (DSCAA). She continues as the Chair of the DSC Working group for AI in education and assessment. She is the Vice Chair of the BDA Dental Academic Staff Group, member of the SAS committee RCS Eng, a trained Mental Health First Aider and is passionate about wellbeing and equity of opportunity in the workplace. Swati participates in translational research for bioactive glasses, champions whole patient care of the older adult and explores applications of AI in dental education.
