Clinical audit and peer review

Clinical audit encourages individual GDPs to examine different aspects of their practice, whereas peer review provides an opportunity for groups of dentists to get together to reflect.

Clinical audit encourages individual GDPs to examine difference aspects of their practice, to make improvements where the need is identified and, from time to time, to re-examine areas that have been audited to make certain that a high quality of service is being maintained.

Peer review provides an opportunity for groups of dentists to get together to review aspects of practice. The aim is to share experiences and identify areas in which changes can be made to improve the quality of service offered to patients.
