The DFT application process in 2020

Due to the COVID-19 and ongoing restrictions, COPDEND has decided to make changes to the Dental Foundation Training (DFT)  national recruitment system for this year in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The main change is that the application process will consist of the Situational Judgement Test (SJT) only.

There’s more information and some practice SJTs on the COPDEND DFT recruitment website.

DFT recruitment week with the BDA

Every year as part of national recruitment week in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the BDA holds a full day of seminars exclusively for our final year student members. The aim of the day is to prepare and support you for the DFT recruitment process.

This year, in order to comply with restrictions, we have created five seminar-style videos, and two live Q&A webinars designed to help prepare you for the Situational Judgment Test and to answer all your burning questions.

We know this is different to what has gone before but we want to reassure you that the same bespoke content and expert advice is available, and this new method will in no way compromise on quality. In fact, we think it an even more effective and flexible way of working with you.
