BDSA events

The BDSA has a long tradition of organising two annual national student events: Sports Day and Conference.

The aim of the BDSA is to promote unity and build relationships between UK dental students. These events support this goal.

BDA student members get a £30 discount off tickets for both BDSA Sports Day and BDSA Conference.

BDSA Conference

This annual educational event takes place in spring each year. Dental students from across the UK enjoy a packed schedule of topical dental lectures, alongside a calendar of social activities.
The next BDSA Conference will take place in February/March 2021 at Manchester Dental School.

BDSA Conference 2020 took place at Barts and The London Dental InstituteRead more about the event on their webpage, Facebook and Instagram profiles.

BDSA Sports Day

This popular annual sports event takes place in autumn each year. Dental schools from across the UK compete against each other in a variety of sports and also enjoy a calendar of social activities.

The most recent Sports Day took place in Sheffield (11-13 October 2019). Find out more on the Sports Day webpage, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The location of the next Sports Day is still to be confirmed. This depends on the Coronavirus lockdown guidelines. We will update here as soon as we have further information.

Join the BDA today for only £2.50 a month to save £30 off your Sports Day ticket.

Sports Day 2018 took place in Liverpool. Find out more on Facebook and Instagram.

Sports Day 2017 took place in Manchester. Find out more on Facebook.

Future locations

The location of these events are decided by vote at the BDSA annual conference every spring. Candidates usually prepare a short presentation to deliver to delegates at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Any UK dental student can choose to run one of these events. Students do not have to have been a BDA representative beforehand to put themselves forward for this role.

If you are interested in hosting an event at your dental school, please contact the current BDSA President for more details.

Behaviour policy

The BDSA Sports Day and Annual Conference are both popular events involving a large number of students and they pride themselves on the professional behaviour of delegates. BDSA Behaviour Policy
