The event is only open to all BDA Armed Forces Group members including reservists and retired members*

Although this is a free event, advance booking is essential so that we know numbers for seating, refreshments and preparing named CPD certificates.

* Retired BDA Armed Forces Group members are those who have retired from Defence Primary Healthcare (Dental) having accumulated at least 20 years of service, either in uniform and/or as a Civilian Dental Practitioner.

  • Understand how long restorations last and how they fail
  • How to effectively communicate and deal with a difficult and upset patient
  • Examine biological failures such as periodontitis, peri-implantitis, caries, pulpal inflammatory conditions and periapical disease
  • Explore mechanical failures such as decementation, restoration/implant and denture fracture.
Learning objectives
  • To increase knowledge on how long restorations should last and how they fail
  • Communicate confidently with patients on the reasons for failed restorations
  • Understand biological and mechanical failure and the challenges they bring.

Peter will be sharing his knowledge and experience to provide an informative seminar for the delegate on this important and growing area of dental practice.  He will demonstrate how to manage particular problems and show some of the problems he has also experienced with his own patients.
