The course is suitable for all members of the dental team who are involved in the use of ionising radiation and covers the training specified by IR(ME)R Regulation 17.

Aims

The aim of this course is to try to ensure that all attendees meet the requirements of the National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) to undergo a minimum of five hours of approved training in ionising radiation safety at least every five years.

Learning objectives

To have undergone training to meet the NRPB's requirements as specified in IR(ME)R Regulation 17.

Learning content

The course is suitable for all members of the dental team who are involved in the use of ionising radiation and covers the training specified by IR(ME)R Regulation 17. The theoretical aspects of ionising radiation safety will be covered during the morning of Saturday 20 June 2020.

Attendees are then invited to perform a structured audit in their own practices and submit it for marking, after which a further 2 hours of CPD is awarded.
