    Aims

    An overview of the Equalities legislation and its practical application in patient care and engagement.

    Learning objectives

    At the end of the lecture, delegates should be able to:

    • Have a grasp of the relevant legislation and definitions
    • Undertake an analysis of how to recognise, manage and support difference in practice
    • Be aware of diversity in dentistry in the news
    • Future proofing best practice.
    Learning content

    This will be a didactic session with examples audience participation, exploring equality and diversity in the dental workplace, and the legislation that goes with it. There will also be a discussion on diversity in dental practice and some tips on how to bet future -proof.

    There will be a chance to ask any questions afterwards.

    Jane Barker is a diversity specialist, who has co-authored publications for the Equality Challenge Unit. She has over 25 years’ experience working in the diversity field. She is currently a Fellow at Cambridge University within the Leadership and Management school.
