Aim

To provide participants with an excellent overview of fibre reinforced restorations and discover how these restorations can revolutionise treatment planning. The lecture will give participants an overview of the fibre-reinforced composite restorations, their applications and their usage in the dental environment, focusing on splinting of mobile teeth.

Learning objectives
  • Splinting: Learn the techniques for placing periodontal splints
  • Learn about the immediate anterior fibre reinforced bridge as part of a periodontal splint
  • Learn to use the clinical crown as a pontic (in combination with a periodontal splint).

Jansie Van Rensburg

After 40 years involvement in Dentistry through practising in Dental Surgeries, running his own Surgery, and starting up his own dental company, Dr Van Rensburg is motivated to give back to the dental community through lecturing and sharing his experience.

Since 2004, Dr Van Rensburg has lectured at numerous National and International Dental Congresses, Study Group Meetings, BDA (British Dental Association) meetings and post graduate centres throughout the UK and the rest of the world (including Germany, Norway, Finland, Poland, Spain, Bulgaria and India).

He has written a number of articles, including peer review articles published in the SADJ (South African Dental Journal), and the Dental Update. Over 4,000 dentists have already benefitted from training with Dr Van Rensburg through his uniquely designed hands-on courses and lectures.
