Aims
A presentation on the new draft Determination 1. The intention is to detail the process behind the creation of the treatment items within the new draft Determination 1 and to give a detailed explanation of each item and how this will translate in to practice for the patients and dentists. There will be an introduction to new Prevention and Periodontal Sections an associated guidance. There will also be discussions on implementation and education.

  • To have a better understanding of how the new Determination 1 was created and the conversations behind it
  • To have a more detailed understanding of each item within the Determination 1
  • How will the new Determination 1 be implemented and anticipated timelines.

Gillian Leslie

Gillian is a practice owner in East Lothian and is a practicing dentist. She has a specialist interest in oral surgery and dental implants.

She spent the first part of her career as a dental officer in the Royal Navy and retired as a Surgeon Lieutenant Commander (D) after 13 years of service. She is a veteran of the Iraq war.

Her current roles include being the DCDO for the West of Scotland health boards, Reform of Determination 1, unscheduled care, engaging with stakeholders, IPC and advising on clinical policy framework.
