British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show
18 - 19 May 2018, Birmingham NEC
We are delighted to announce that the BDA will be working with the Dentistry Show, organised by CloserStill Media, to bring you a bigger and better annual conference and exhibition.
In May 2018, at the NEC in Birmingham, the British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show will welcome you through its doors.
About the eventThe event will feature a thriving, vibrant exhibition with hundreds of our friends in the industry there to help you find the new and improved tools and services for your life in practice. Alongside the vast exhibition we will host a CPD theatre with a programme bringing you the quality learning you’ve come to expect from us.
We’re committed to offering our members and this profession the biggest and best event in the dental calendar.
Our British Dental Conference and Dentistry show is now the one date every dentist needs in their diary. And we’ve opened the doors to the whole profession, to give them all access the latest innovation, education and quality CPD.
Members are our number one priority. On top of one unmissable national conference, we are working to ensure you have access to more exclusive events in more locations across the UK.
Why are you joining forces?
The British Dental Conference and Exhibition always got rave reviews. We have always looked to find way to improve things for our delegates. We believe this collaboration with CloserStill Media will do just that, providing members with the big date in the dental calendar.
How much money was involved?
We can’t disclose the arrangements but all decisions are taken in the interests of our members. As a not-for-profit organisation, all revenue is reinvested 'for our members’ benefit.
Will the BDA still run other events?
Of course. Our training and seminars continue to be in high demand. Many of our events this year have sold out and those that haven’t have been very close. Delegates tell us that they value our quality CPD, indeed that’s one of the reasons the Dentistry Show organisers are keen to work with us.
Is the BDA trying to make savings?
No. The BDA has come out of a period of financial uncertainty. Our aim is to provide the defining event in the dental calendar as we invest in new the events our members want. The British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show will be the centrepiece of a wide and expanding BDA events programme.
Why make such a fuss about the future dates?
We wanted to ensure our delegates, exhibitors and sponsors could plan ahead. It’s as simple as that.
Why not have this in place for 2019 instead of 2018?
We could have delivered our conference and exhibition as usual next year but decided there’s no time like the present.
How did you make this decision?
Our board is directly elected by members to make these kinds of decisions in the interests of members and the association. They are dentists with a vested interest in building a stronger, more effective BDA.
I’m an Extra/Expert member. Are you going to reduce my membership subscriptions if the Conference is now free for everyone?
Passes to the BDA Conference and Exhibition were complimentary to our Extra and Expert members. Our new event is free to all, but we will be offering more high quality exclusive events across the UK. We will be in touch very soon to tell you of the enhanced CPD programme we’re shaping based on member feedback.
Will I get a free place at other events instead of conference?
We are looking at options for alternative CPD and networking opportunities for Extra and Expert members.
If there are ways of earning CPD that you’d like us to deliver we’d be very pleased to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org
