Ethics not fear - cosmetic dentistry in the 21st century

Session synopsis

The last 10 to 15 years have seen an exponential growth in the demand for elective, patient driven dentistry – much of it to do with appearance, and often referred to as cosmetic dentistry. With the concomitant unprecedented rise in the numbers of dentists facing GDC charges during this same period, the phenomenon of 'defensive dentistry' has reared its head – fuelled as ever, by fear. Dr Napier will explore the role ethics plays both in clinical practice and in the business of dentistry, and how an ethical rather than a purely legal or fear driven approach is more likely to keep you out of trouble.

Lecture filmed at the British Dental Conference and Exhibition 2016.
