This session will help you undertake better management of medical, emergencies in the dental practice.

  • Be able to describe the ABCDE approach to assess and treat the acutely ill patient
  • Know which emergency drugs are required to treat different medical emergencies
  • Understand how to treat common medical emergencies.

About the speaker

Phil Jevon, Multi-Professional Clinical Skills Manager, Medical Education Manor Hospital, Walsall 

Phil is Multi-Professional Clinical Skills Manager at the Walsall Healthcare Education Academy. He runs and directs the Resuscitation Council (UK) ALS, ILS, EPLS Courses and still works regularly in the clinical area. A key part of his role is to provide simulation training for medical students on SIMMAN in clinical examination/diagnosis skills. Phil has been awarded honorary Clinical lecturer in recognition of this work.
