Counselling and emotional support

Through Health Assured you are supported by a comprehensive service known as an 'Employee Assistance Programme' (EAP); all members can access it regardless of employment status.

An EAP is a confidential benefit designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home life or work life, health and general wellbeing. You can access a helpline 24/7, 365 days a year.

The service is a complete support network that offers expert advice and compassionate guidance 24/7, covering a wide range of issues. We strongly believe in providing an EAP service that offers not only reactive support when someone needs it but also proactive and preventative support to deliver the best possible outcomes.

Health Assured, in partnership with the BDA, provides all members with complimentary access to an enhanced Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

 

Services Available

Health Assured offers cover for you and, in some cases, your immediate family (that is your spouse or partners and dependent children aged 16 to 24 who are in full time education or living in the same household), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year:

In addition to the counselling support and advice, we also offer a virtual library of wellbeing information. These informative articles and self-help guides provide support on a range of health and advisory issues, as well as instant guidance to aid of an employee’s physical and mental health.

 

We understand that the information needs to be available in a way that is suitable for you, whenever you require it. From simple lifestyle changes to advice for many of life's most common concerns, the portal offers:

Health e-Hub Mobile App

Sometimes it can be difficult to balance the pressures of work with the demands of home life. When daily life feels overwhelming you need help and support to deal with the practical and emotional challenges you may be facing. The free Health Assured app offers access to holistic health and wellbeing support at the tap of a finger anywhere and anytime.

FAQs

Are my calls confidential?

All calls are confidential between the caller and their counsellor or advisor.


Exceptions can occur only if there is serious risk of harm to the caller or others. In such circumstances, the caller will always seek guidance before breaching confidentiality.

 
Analytical usage data may be shared with the BDA (excluding identifying factors)

 

Who can use this service?

We believe that the best way to support you is to support your immediate family as well: Partners and dependents* can access the telephone helpline. Structured telephone counselling extends to partners and dependents also.


*Health Assured define dependents as living in the same household, aged 16 to 24 and in full time education.

 

What services are available?

What’s included with the critical incident support?

Our trauma trained counsellors focus on solving an immediate and identifiable problem, enabling you to return to your daily routine quicker. If you require follow-up support, we are able to provide counselling across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
