Demanding a sustainable future for dentistry
Each year we use your evidence to fight for a fairer pay for associates, practice owners, community dentists (PDS in Scotland), and we call for pay parity for dental clinical academics.
We work across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and provide evidence to the Governments on your behalf.
We want an end to the public sector pay cap for doctors and dentists – we believe the continued decline in income for dentists is affecting not just the profession, but the access to care dentists can provide for patients.
Fighting red tape: GDPR and compliance
We believe patients and practitioners deserve an effective and efficient dental regulator and we are campaigning for 'right-touch' regulation (as outlined by the PSA): proportionate, consistent, targeted, transparent, accountable and agile.
Championing patient care and access for all
We want to see a properly funded dental service, where patients can secure access regardless of their income or their postcode.
We’ve exposed how government policy has led to millions of low income and vulnerable patients turning away from NHS dentistry, thanks to an aggressive approach to fines for ‘misclaiming’ free care.

We’ve continued working behind the scenes on oral health and are delighted this year to see a breakthrough in our call to expand the HPV vaccinations programme to boys, which will help fight the tide of rising oral cancer rates across the UK.
Dentistry past, present and future
We continue to work to raise the profile of dentistry in the media and this year we supported the NHS70 birthday campaign, encouraging dentists to share their stories of dental treatment under the NHS.
