Learning objectives

  • Discuss advantages of using co-axial implants for optimising screw channel positions in various clinical situations ranging from single tooth replacement to full arch rehabilitations
  • Examine the use of a body shift design to maximise insertion torque whilst optimising space for grafting and soft tissues
  • Look at the use of a wide bodied Max implant to maximise primary stability in immediate placement in molar sites.

Gareth graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2003 with the HR Williams prize for oral surgery.

He has spent his dental career working in general practice where he has developed a special interest in Implantology. He spends most of his work time at Monmouth Dental Practice where he became principal dentist in 2011 but also visits practices in Cheltenham and Hereford.

The Implantology side of his work ranges from single teeth, to full arch restoration with sinus augmentation and vertical and horizontal bone grafting.
