Meet the speaker

Flavio Pisani 250X250 (1) Flavio Pisani Senior Clinical Lecturer/Hon Consultant in Periodontology Specialist in Periodontology and Oral Surgery Lead for MSc Clinical Periodontology, UCLan

Flavio is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Periodontology at UCLan/Honorary Consultant at University Hospital Morecambe Bay Trust/Royal Lancaster Infirmary. He teaches periodontology in the UCLan BDS/DT course where he co-leads the 5th year module Integrated Clinical Knowledge. He is the Postgraduate Programme Lead for the two years MSc in Clinical Periodontology and Director of Studies for the PhD in Dentistry.

His expertise relates to the surgical aspect of periodontology, with particular regards to periodontal regeneration and periodontal plastic surgery and soft tissue manipulation around implants.

Ribble Section: Orthodontic assessment criteria for GDPs: what, when and where to refer?

Simon Watkinson will present an evening lecture taking place on Wednesday 22 May which will provide dentists with guidance to accurately apply IOTN in clinical situations and to improve the accuracy of orthodontic referrals.
