What to expect

This lecture will provide an overview of modern vital pulp therapy procedures, with a particular emphasis on clinical tips and tricks. It will cover the current thinking and evidence to support this treatment modality. The indications will be discussed as well as the clinical aspects of the procedure.

  • Review the history of vital pulp therapy procedures
  • Understand the movement towards this treatment over conventional RCT in certain cases
  • Review current evidence on outcomes and success rates
  • Discuss the clinical indications for this treatment and how to identify suitable cases
  • Understand the clinical steps to carry out this treatment
  • Discuss the materials and equipment that are required
  • Discuss how to implement this treatment in general practice.

Meet the speaker

Manpreet Dhesi Manpreet Dhesi Associate Dentist

Manpreet qualified as a dentist from the University of Manchester in 2011 and completed his postgraduate endodontic MSc at Queen Mary University with Merit in 2017. Since then his practice has been mainly limited to endodontics. He now spends the majority of his working week in an endodontic referral practice, treating referrals from dentists in Hampshire and beyond. He carries out all aspects of endodontic treatment including primary treatment, retreatment, surgical endodontics and vital pulp therapy.
