What to expect

This lecture will discuss the current situation of surgery provision in the region and will consider what is appropriate to refer to oral surgery/OMFS.

Meet the speakers

Robbie Williams Photo 250X250 Robbie Williams Consultant Oral Surgeon

Robbie qualified from Newcastle University in 2012 with merit in both clinical and academic dentistry. He has gained extensive experience working for over a decade in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery units in hospitals in the northeast and northwest of England and completed specialty training in Oral Surgery in 2021.  

Robbie has completed numerous postgraduate courses and qualifications relating to advanced implant dentistry and now lectures and mentors as well as training junior colleagues within the hospital. He has completed a master's degree in Dental Implantology and a PGCert in Postgraduate Medical Education (achieving distinction in both) and in 2021 passed the prestigious Tri-Collegiate Membership in Oral Surgery examination.  

He is currently employed as a Locum Consultant Oral Surgeon at Arrowe Park Hospital (Wirral) and works privately in two specialist referral practices in South Liverpool and the Wirral.

The Annual General Meeting will be held at 18:30 for BDA members only. An agenda, previous minutes and any relevant reports will be emailed to members a few days prior to the event.

If you feel at all unwell, we encourage you to take a lateral flow test the evening before you are due to arrive - should your test result be positive, we ask you not to attend.

If your test is negative, but you do have symptoms of COVID-19 (a new, persistent cough; a high temperature; or loss/changes to your sense of taste or smell) we kindly request you consider not attending the event to mitigate any risk to other attendees.

The museum is a few minutes drive away from Junction 9 of the M53. It is 15 minutes away by car to Chester City Centre and 5 minutes to the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Park.

Ellesmere Port Railway Station is a 15-minute walk away and the bus station is a 20-minute walk. There is also access via the canal and its towpath for boater, cyclists and walkers.

Free car parking is available at the venue.

There is an electric charging hub just outside the museum with a pair of rapid chargers*. These rapid chargers will give a full charge in as little as half an hour.

There was a very open friendly atmosphere to the meeting encouraging contributions from the floor.
