What to expect

Delegates will be updated on the speciality of restorative dentistry in hospital and the high street. Arshad Ali will give the update and illustrate this with interesting clinical cases. He will also discuss some of the challenges he faced when setting up a referral practice at the time of a recession.

Meet the speaker

Arshad Ali Arshad Ali Clinical Director of the Scottish Centre of Excellence for Dentistry

Arshad is Clinical Director of the Scottish Centre of Excellence for Dentistry. He qualified with commendation at the University of Glasgow in 1978 and carried out ten years of postgraduate training in Glasgow, Cardiff, London and Sweden. He was the first NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in Wales and was Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in Glasgow Dental Hospital and School until 2011 when he left to focus fully on Scottish Centre for Excellence in Dentistry and postgraduate teaching.

He has given over 500 lectures and courses across the world. He has served on the Specialist Advisory Committee at the Royal College of Surgeons and was the President of the British Dental Association West of Scotland Branch for the year 2014-15. He has published numerous papers in dental literature.
