Our library at Wimpole Street, London is the most comprehensive dental library in Europe. Opened in 1920, the Robert and Lilian Lindsay library was founded and organised by Lilian Lindsay, the first woman to qualify as a dentist in the UK.

We provide books, ebooks, journals, ejournals, literature searches, article packages, requested articles - all of which can be accessed either remotely or by visiting the library. Our knowledgeable library team is willing to answer any query, no matter how obscure.

We also offer free Wi-Fi, photocopying facilities and a relaxing space to work in, as well as face to face contact with our experienced library professionals.

Library Historical Preservation Fund

The BDA library has a historical collection of books and journals that dates back to its opening in 1920, including materials from the 16th century onwards. It needs regular conservation to preserve it for future generations. Please help us in preserving this collection and educating future generations about the origins and ongoing development of the dental profession by donating to our fund.
