What to expect

On Tuesday 24 February, Brian Millar will guide clinicians through the effective use of occlusal splints to manage TMD, bruxism, clenching, and sleep apnoea. This lecture will cover splint selection, fitting, and monitoring, helping you treat occlusal issues with greater confidence and precision.

Brian Millar Clinical Professor of Dental Education, King’s College London and NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, King’s College London Dental Institute

Brian Millar is a Clinical Professor of Dental Education at King’s College London and an NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the King’s College London Dental Institute, based at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospitals. He is also a Specialist in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry.


He serves as Programme Director for the internationally renowned MClinDent in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at King’s College London, now in its 26th year. The programme currently has 145 registered clinicians and boasts graduates in over 60 countries, many of whom practise at an advanced level of clinical dentistry. Brian previously established the highly successful MSc programmes in Aesthetic Dentistry and Advanced General Dental Practice via blended learning at the KCL Dental Institute, and has also developed overseas training in Prosthodontics.


With 45 years of clinical experience, Brian remains an active specialist clinician in both hospital and private practice. His particular focus is on managing tooth wear, aesthetic concerns, and occlusal issues, applying minimally invasive (MI) philosophies wherever possible. He has also contributed to the development of online referral and triage systems in Restorative Dentistry, helping to improve NHS referral pathways.
