What to expect
Join us as we explore a fresh perspective on aesthetic tooth‑position planning. Using a series of real clinical cases where previous aesthetic outcomes fell short, Tom will demonstrate how these smiles could have been significantly improved through a more structured and reliable approach.
With implant treatment, protocols are rapidly changing as the field continues to develop and use of digital technology increases with these cases. In complex cases, extraction, immediate placement and immediate loading are now frequently undertaken at the same appointment. In those cases where the anterior teeth are being extracted as part of the same day procedure, achieving ideal aesthetics, particularly if the patient wishes an improvement rather than a ‘copy’ of their previous tooth position, presents a major challenge.

Learning objectives
- Examine the limitations of Digital Smile Design if the aesthetics are to be dramatically changed
- Revisit the conventional guide to assessing anterior tooth position
- Offer a more predictable alternative evidence-based technique
- Demonstrate, with clinical cases, the application of these lesser-known suggested workflows
- Give attendees a wider range of aesthetic possibilities when treating or referring these advanced cases.
