What to expect
By the end of the lecture, the delegate should be able to understand the scientific evidence supporting the use of Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) and Hall Crowns as minimally invasive treatment options for managing caries in primary teeth. They will be able to demonstrate practical skills in the correct application of SDF and the placement of Hall Crowns, including making appropriate clinical decisions based on case selection. Delegates will also strengthen their communication skills to clearly and confidently explain the rationale, procedures, and benefits of these treatments to children, parents, and caregivers. Finally, they will be equipped to integrate both SDF and Hall Crowns into a broader, prevention-focused strategy for caries management in line with the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) 2025 guidance.
