What to expect

Tooth wear is one of the fastest growing clinical challenges in general practice, and one of the most poorly served by undergraduate education. This vital session closes the gap, giving you the diagnostic clarity, clinical judgement, and restorative confidence to act earlier and achieve better long-term outcomes. 

Stop monitoring. Start managing. 

Know precisely when to intervene, which materials to select, and how to build a treatment plan to help your patients, and their occlusion, survive and thrive.

The Norfolk and Norwich Section's AGM will also take place at the event.

Learning objectives

  • Identify causes of tooth wear and implement prevention

  • Understand when and how to alter occlusion safely

  • Learn how to apply splints and the Dahl concept appropriately

  • Evaluate restorative materials and their clinical indications, benefits and limitations

  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans balancing aesthetics, function and long-term occlusal stability.

Akhtar KhanProsthodontist

Akhtar is a dedicated prosthodontist with a special interest in restorative dentistry, implant rehabilitation, and smile transformation. He graduated from UCLan in 2017, gained Membership in Prosthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2024, and completed his MClinDent in Prosthodontics with Distinction at King's College London in 2025.

His expertise includes restoring worn teeth, replacing missing teeth, implant-supported restorations, and delivering natural-looking smile makeovers. Combining advanced digital dentistry with minimally invasive techniques, Akhtar provides precise, predictable, and long-lasting results. Known for his calm and thorough approach, he is committed to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
