What to expect

Join the Northern Counties Branch for their Summer CPD and social event. There will be a buffet where you can network and socialise, followed by two lectures by Helen Rogers and David Edwards. David will discuss recent advances in endodontic technology and how these relate to patient outcomes, whilst Helen Rogers will discuss the use of resin infiltration for the management of enamel opacities, occlusal and interproximal caries and hypomineralised molars.

Enamel opacities and beyond: The role of resin infiltration - Helen Rogers

  • To give an overview of the principles of resin infiltration in relation to managing developmental and acquired defects of enamel
  • To provide guidance on appropriate case selection for treatment with resin infiltration
  • To describe the technique for resin infiltration for management of anterior enamel opacities, early occlusal and interproximal caries and hypomineralised molars.

Meet the speakers

David Edwards Doctoral Research Fellow, Newcastle University
Helen Rogers Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry, Newcastle University.

 

David Edwards

David has 20-years’ experience in primary and secondary care. He is currently a doctoral research fellow and speciality trainee in endodontics at Newcastle University. He combines hospital practice, teaching, research and primary care practice limited to endodontics. He completed the specialty membership in endodontics in 2024 through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Helen Rogers

Since graduating as a dentist in 2011, Helen has completed her specialist and consultant-level examinations in Paediatric Dentistry in 2018 and 2022 respectively. Her PhD (2021) was funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) to develop a utility measure for children with dental caries, which is suitable for use in economic evaluation. Helen is currently a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at Newcastle University. Her clinical and research interests lie in health economics applied to oral health, dental caries and developmental defects of enamel.
