What to expect

Raj Murugaraj will outline the management of patients with high risk of bleeding following tooth extraction, and to discuss the assessment, preoperative precautions, prevention  and management of dental patients with high risk of bleeding including patients on direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) in dental practice.

Meet the speaker

Raj Murugaraj Oral Surgery Expert

With over 24 years of NHS hospital experience in oral surgery, Raj brings a wealth of clinical expertise and a strong passion for teaching. Since completing his undergraduate studies in 1998, he has dedicated his career to advancing both patient care and education.

Raj currently serves as a speaker for Health Education England (Thames Valley and Wessex Deanery) and a surgical tutor with Doctor’s Academy. He leads a popular hands-on Minor Oral Surgery course for dentists across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, with more than 200 participants to date and consistently excellent feedback.

His commitment to education led him to complete a postgraduate qualification in medical education at Cardiff University, and he has been awarded a Fellowship by Advance HE in recognition of his excellence in teaching and learning support in higher education.

Raj currently divides his time between practice limited to oral surgery, and teaching the next generation of dental professionals.
