IN-PERSON EVENT, hosted by the South Wales Branch

The South Wales Branch conference returns Friday 12 June 2026!

We’re excited to welcome the whole dental team for a motivating day of learning, connection and inspiration in Cardiff!

Throughout the day, you’ll hear from engaging speakers sharing practical insights in their field.

Alongside the lectures, our vibrant exhibition will showcase the latest products, technologies and innovations - giving you the opportunity to discover new solutions and connect with leading suppliers.

Whether you’re looking to enhance clinical confidence, gain new perspectives or strengthen team collaboration, there’s something for everyone!

What to expect

  • Management of the mixed dentition - early recognition of abnormal dental development allows timely diagnosis, appropriate early intervention, and informed planning for long term oral health outcomes
  • Periodontal disease in primary care - Apply BSP UK 2018 classification and S3 guidelines to accurately diagnose and deliver effective, stepwise management of periodontitis, including overcoming implementation challenges and managing moderate, severe, and non responding disease
  • Health and care in Wales - to understand the key factors shaping the future of health and care, demographic and socio‑economic trends, the challenges of transforming ways of thinking and working, and how we can all contribute to a sustainable, forward‑looking system
  • Minimally invasive management of caries - assess dental caries in the primary dentition and plan appropriate minimally invasive management, while using current evidence to guide clinical decision making in the care of children
  • Patients’ illness beliefs in dentistry - understand how patients’ illness beliefs shape their expectations and behaviours in dentistry and to apply simple strategies to explore and respond to these beliefs in consultations.
