What to expect

This talk shines a light on neurodiversity in dentistry - unpacking its strengths, challenges, and systemic barriers that can be experienced by colleagues and patients. Explore practical, inclusive strategies to reduce inequalities, support neurodivergent colleagues and improve patient care, thereby reducing the potential for inadvertent discrimination in dentistry.

The lecture will focus on:

  • Building an understanding of neurodiversity, including its strengths and challenges
  • Highlighting barriers faced by neurodivergent individuals in dentistry
  • Introducing practical approaches to fostering neuro-inclusion for colleagues and patients.

Meet the speaker

Jasmine Murphy Chief Clinical Officer ThinkDivergent

Jasmine began her dental career in General Practice, becoming a Partner and also Staff Grade in an acute trust before specialising in Dental Public Health. She held NHS Consultant roles across Dental and Healthcare Public Health. In Leicester, she led the award-winning ‘Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles!’ programme, reducing oral health inequalities for children in the city. A passionate advocate for systemic change, she is also a published voice on neurodiversity-informed dentistry, with her BDJ Team article ranking among the top three in 2024. Now Chief Clinical Officer at ThinkDivergent, she is transforming neurodivergent lives through innovation, inclusion, and improved access.

Parking
On street car parking
Parking bays are located on St Vincent Street, Blythswood Street and Douglas Street which surround the building. Parking is chargeable Monday – Sunday by using the meter or Ringo app. Blue badge holders can park in bays free of charge.

Multi-storey car parks
Q-Park Waterloo Street is the closest multi-storey car park to the College (2 minute drive or 3 minute walk). Further information available on Q-Park website
