The cut-off date for CPD hours to be counted towards the statement was 31 July 2023. Any CPD undertaken during August 2024 cannot be counted towards the August 2023-July 2024 CPD year.
All DCPs need to show they are compliant with the requirement of having undertaken a minimum of 10 hours of verifiable CPD over the last two years of their cycle. This means that if you declared six hours in your statement in August 2023, you would need to declare at least four hours in your statement this time. This also applies if you finished your previous cycle in 2023 and are declaring hours for the first year of your new cycle.
DCPs who reached the end of their five-year CPD cycle on 31 July 2024 also need to show the total required number of verifiable CPD hours for their registration category, as well as meeting the 10-hours-over-two-years requirement.
These required hours are:
- 50 hours for dental nurses and dental technicians
- 75 hours for dental hygienists, dental therapists, clinical dental technicians, and orthodontic therapists.
You can see more information about submitting your statement, and make your CPD statement through the eGDC website.
