This year, 14 candidates are standing for the four regional seats, and 34 candidates for the two UK-wide seats available.
The seats available are:
- North West
- West Midlands
- UK-wide (One of the two UK-wide seats is for a by-election, the term for which will be until 31 January 2022).
Ballots close at 12 noon on 26 November, so please ensure you return your vote via post in good time.
How can I vote?
Ballot papers are currently in the process of being delivered to all full members and will be sent to the address at which you receive your BDJ.
If, by 12 November, you have not received a ballot form and are eligible to vote, please get in touch with the Elections team [email protected] to request a replacement form.
What does the BDA’s board do?
The BDA board, also known as the Principal Executive Committee (PEC), has overall control and direction of the policy and affairs of the BDA. It is our board of directors, and as such it holds all requisite statutory, commercial and common law duties and responsibilities.
The board is responsible for the lawful conduct of the BDA as a recognised trade union. It seeks to balance the competing interests of what is right for the BDA with what is right for individual members, and what is right for the profession.
It is comprised of 15 elected seats, nine for England, one each for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and three UK-wide seats. Elections are held for five of these seats each year, to ensure opportunities for participation from the membership.
