Strategic dental workforce plan
HEIW have invited all stakeholders to provide feedback by email at [email protected].
They have provided an analysis of the recent QAS data to a large group of dental stakeholders. It provides insight and evidence of the dental workforce position across Wales. Once the Wales National Workforce Reporting System (WNWRS) is rolled out, there will be more information available, providing data including an estimate of whole time equivalent workforce (WTE) entering and exiting by dental professional groups; workforce supply data; evidence of the vacancies across the system; and more accurate representation of the whole GDS workforce.
On Friday 14 July the three BDA Cymru committees (Welsh Council, WGDPC and WCCD) ran a whole day seminar workshop around education, training, career planning and strategic workforce developments with speakers from HEIW, including Postgraduate Dental Dean, Kirstie Moons.
We will provide more details next month on the outputs from the workshop and will share our deliberations on these important matters.
