New mental health lead course launched

Our new Good Practice course raises awareness about mental health issues, highlighting the vital role a mental health lead could play in your practice.

Promoting mental wellbeing for your staff can increase happiness and contentment, benefitting patients and colleagues. Our course is designed to help you understand how poor mental health within the dental team can not only impact the individual but also the day to day running of your practice. Now available in our CPD hub, The importance of a Mental Health Lead (BDA website login required) delves into mental wellbeing, identifying the factors that contribute to mental health triggers.

On completion of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of mental health issues, a familiarity with the qualities of a good mental health lead and be able to recognise why having a lead in your practice is important. You will also gain access to our risk assessment template to help you determine how well your practice currently manages work-related and external stress for the team, and what measures are in place to offer support.

The course offers one hour of verifiable learning and is available to all staff working in a Good Practice Scheme accredited practice. It includes interactive e-learning, a quiz, and downloadable wellbeing support resources. If you are not GDC registered contact us with your name and address for support in enrolling on the course.
