Register for the Duty of Candour online event

The Department of Health is hosting an online information session on the Duty of Candour and Being Open public consultation for dentists and dental practice staff on 3 June 2021.

The purpose of the event is to provide an overview of the proposals that have been published for consultation and to answer your questions.

This new Duty of Candour will affect everyone involved in providing HSC services, whether salaried or independent contractors. This is the opportunity to highlight concerns relating to dentistry, and trying to influence changes while there is still some fluidity on aspects of the proposals.

There will be a presentation from the independent Chair of the Duty of Candour Workstream, Quintin Oliver, summarising the policy proposals that have been published for consultation, followed by a Q&A. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions at the point of registration.

Details of the event

The Department of Health Duty of Candour and Being Open consultation ends on 2 August 2021 and we will be formally responding to this consultation.

We would encourage as many as possible to attend this important event.
