Delegates at BDA Northern Ireland Branch event in 2019 (c) BDA
This year's BDA Northern Ireland Branch President Paul Brennan has put together a fantastic programme full of clinical and professional lectures and events for 2020.
All BDA members should receive a hard copy of the Branch programme in January, but you can also access the information online.
The programme begins with a lecture from Dr Janine Brooks on the evening of Tuesday 4 February in Belfast guiding attendees on how to create a great personal development plan (PDP), perfect for starting off the year well.
This will be followed by a March evening lecture on Tuesday 10 March entitled 'The good, the bad and the ugly!' from Dr Stephen Adair and Dr Seamus Napier examining potentially malignant oral lesions.
Owen Thompson and David McCaughey will be speaking on the business of running a dental practice and how you can improve your practice with some tips on the evening of Tuesday 28 April.
An exciting addition for the 2020 programme, is a full-day event, brought to attendees' courtesy of Oral B, on Tuesday 19 May. Professor Avijit Banerjee, Professor Anthony Roberts and Jocelyn Harding will be delivering a range of lectures on periodontics, minimally-invasive dentistry and the mouth care of patients living with cancer.
There are a range of social and golf events to enjoy throughout the year, a good opportunity to network with colleagues away from the dental surgery. There will also be a rugby event taking place in Autumn 2020, so look out for further details nearer the time.
Tuesday 15 September will see the excellent Dr John Marley speaking on red flag referrals, followed by another full day event on Friday 9 October 2020. Dr Bob Philpott, Alyn Morgan, Dr Dermot Canavan and Dr Gillian Smith will be delivering a range of lectures on endodontics, facial pain and making your surgery autism friendly.
We will finish the year's programme with our AGM and lecture on Tuesday 10 November. Len D'Cruz will be speaking on the dento-legal risk of periodontal disease, with helpful information to help reduce the risk of claims and complaints in relation to periodontal disease.
