Dipesh Kothari has been honoured with the Joy Harrild Award for Young Dentists in this year's round of BDA Honours and Awards, for his personal commitment to and passion for his profession.

Dipesh is currently working as a GDP in Berkshire, providing quality general and complex dentistry. He enjoys working with families and has an interest in implant dentistry and working with anxious patients.

Dipesh has always taken an interest in furthering his education and working towards improving standards in dentistry. Keen to further his skills, he recently completed an MSc in Implantology at the university of Bristol.

He has been active at a local level, holding the post of Chair for the BDA Reading Section, organising CPD events and encouraging younger members to participate.

He has also helped to set up and contributes to a local study club in Reading, to support and mentor other young dentists.

Dipesh holds a seat on the General Dental Practice Committee, representing his peers to improve working conditions and steer changes within the profession.

He is passionate about promoting good oral health and has given presentations to his local community at a health awareness symposium.

Dipesh also teaches an implant training module on a one-year Implant course and has been put forward to be an implant mentor for young surgeons for the Neoss implant company.

He has recently presented at an event for the university of Bristol and at a young dentist study day for the ITI.

The BDA Joy Harrild Award for Young Dentists was set up in 2017 to recognise the achievements of younger members of the dental profession.

We encourage nominations from all areas and stages of dentistry, and we seek to represent the diversity of dentistry today, and ensure the work of inspiring dentists is recognised: Nominate someone for the Joy Harrild Award now!
